Community Action of Rock & Walworth Counties Receive $5,000 from Ho-Chunk Nation

Community Action, Inc. of Rock and Walworth Counties received a $5,000 grant from the Ho-Chunk Nation, to support the Skills Enhancement Program.  The Skills Enhancement program is designed to increase the income and economic self-reliance of low-wage working households by helping adult members acquire the skills they need to obtain higher paying jobs in demand occupations.

A check presentation was held at the Community Action Pathways Center, located at #20 Eclipse Center, 600 Henry Avenue, Beloit, WI on Friday January 6th at 10:00 AM.  A tour of the facility and a brief reception followed the check presentation.

Community Action Receives $3,000 Women’s Fund Grant

ROCK/WALWORTH CO. –  Community Action, Inc. of Rock and Walworth Counties announces that it has received a $3,000 grant from The Women’s Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, Inc. to support the Skills Enhancement Program.  The Skills Enhancement program is designed to increase the income and economic self-sufficiency of low-wage working households by helping adult members acquire the skills they need to obtain higher paying jobs with health insurance benefits in demand occupations.  The funding from the Women’s Fund will be targeted specifically to Rock County single parent households headed by women to support their efforts towards self-sufficiency.

The Skills Enhancement program is available for participants who reside in households with incomes at or below 150% poverty level and are employed at least 20 hours per week.
